Today the skies were clear and cloudless all day long and I discovered something. The pictures of the sun taken later in the day are less clear and defined. I thought it would be the other way around.
So, I've got a nice collection of photos and control photos now to analyze. The next step will be to take a new set, maybe at weekly intervals, and see if the image changes at all - see if it gets bigger and closer. That's the only way to know for sure until everyone can see it, that is.

I found this video that shows a Chinese satellite pointed toward the sun, and to the right is an interesting site: you can exit the ad and ignore the junk also on the site. But the video is interesting.
